Holly Keets – Manager, DSL, SENCO

Holly joined Sturminster Marshall Preschool in 2013 as a part time volunteer.  Since then she has had various roles within the team, but became the manager of Sturminster Marshall preschool late 2023.

Holly brings a wealth of experience and warmth to her role, having dedicated herself to early years education at Sturminster Marshall Preschool for well over a decade. Her approachable nature and commitment to professional development makes her a trusted leader within the setting. Holly is passionate about fostering an inclusive environment where every child can thrive and reach their full potential.

Although in the management role, Holly is a room based manager.  She is a keyperson accross all our age ranges.

Cath Parslow – Deputy manager, DDSL, Sustainability Lead

Cath joined Sturminster Marshall Preschool in 2023. She is our ‘ducks’ lead, working closely with our children ages 2-3 years. She is also our sustainability lead, ensuring we, at Sturminster Marshall Preschool, become more environmentally, socially and economically sustainable.

Prior to working for us, Cath had 9 years’ experience of working locally in another early years setting – including managment. She is also a qualified nurse, working in a variety of medical areas for 16 years prior to her early years role. Her breadth of experience brings a caring, professional approach to her work with children and families.

Cath’s interests outside of work are walking her cockapoo, baking and gardening. She enjoys exploring the Dorset countryside and often brings her love of nature into activities with the children.

Louise Stubbs – Senior Childcare Practitioner

Louise has worked at Sturminster Marshall preschool since December 2012, with over 15 years previous experience in early years. She holds a recognised qualification in childcare and is committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment for all children. Louise is passionate about promoting learning through play and encourages curiosity and independence in every child.

Louise is the ‘owls’ lead, working mainly with our preschoolers aged 3 and 4, helping to prepare them for their move to ‘big school’. She works closely with families to ensure each child’s transition is as smooth as possible, supporting both social and academic development. Her dedication helps to lay strong foundations for their future learning journeys.

Jan Ladbrook -Childcare Assistant and Admin

Jan has worked for Sturminster Marshall Preschool since 2011 in an administrative role and then as a childcare practitioner. Jan is our ‘ducklings’ lead, working with our youngest children aged 9 months to 2 years. She is passionate about creating a nurturing and stimulating environment, ensuring that every child feels safe and valued from their very first day. Jan brings a calm and reassuring presence to the team, supporting both children and their families as they take their first steps into early education.

Previously she had worked at Barclays Bank for 28 years, which has helped with her administrative role. Her extensive experience in banking means she is highly organised and efficient, and she uses these skills to keep the preschool running smoothly behind the scenes. Jan’s attention to detail and commitment to excellence make her a vital member of staff.

“I enjoy spending time with the children, watching them grow and developing their own personalities.” Jan finds great joy in witnessing each child’s milestones and is dedicated to fostering their curiosity and confidence as they explore the world around them.

Margaret Painter – Regular Bank Staff, Childcare Assisstant

Margaret joined Sturminster Marshall preschool in May 2023.  She has lots of years of childcare experience, working in schools and nurseries.  She was also a registered childminder and nanny for many years.  Margaret is a valued member of our team, bringing enthusiasm and warmth to every session. She is known for her caring nature and creative approach, often coming up with engaging activities that inspire confidence and curiosity in the children.

“I enjoy being with the children in their early years, teaching them new skills and play activities.”  Margaret believes in fostering a nurturing environment where each child can thrive and feel supported as they learn and grow alongside their peers.

Juila Howard – Training Childcare Assisstant

Juila is our newest member of the team, joining Sturminster Marhsall Preschool in October 2025.  Although new to the staff, Julia already knows Sturminster Marshall preschool very well – both of her children attended here, and she has been active member of our voluntary committee, helping to strengthen our links with the local community.  Before joining us, Julia worked in marine science and is excited to share her passion and love for the environment with our children.

Juila has also run the village toddler group for many years, creating a warm and welcoming space for local families to connect and grow together.

Juila is hoping to start her qualification training with us later in the year.

Julia brings a wealth of experience from both her professional background and her involvement within the local community. Her approachable nature and genuine enthusiasm for early years education are already making a positive impact on staff and children alike. With her unique blend of scientific knowledge and hands-on experience with families, Julia is a fantastic addition to our preschool team.
